Babul Ki Duwayen Leti Ja revolves around five sisters among whom Sheetal is eldest. She is like a mother for her sisters. She takes care of all the responsibilities of her family and her sisters. The five sisters have their own dreams and the serial is about their lives and the struggle they face to fulfill their dreams. Sheetal wants to give all happiness to her sisters and sacrifices her dreams and her love life also for her sister. But trauma comes when Sheetal’s youngest sister Preeti joins college and faces so many troubles and torture from her seniors. Preeti hides everything from Sheetal and tries to fight with ragging problem alone, but she couldn’t bear the pressure of torture and commits suicide. The whole family is shocked by the sudden death of Preeti. Sheetal tried to find out why Preeti committed suicide and while talking with Preeti’s roommate she senses something wrong and tries to find out what’s wrong. Later, she discovers about ragging and promises Preeti to give her justice. In this fight, she was left all alone when her boyfriend doesn’t support her initially but later he joins hands with her.
The show was a big hit and highly appraised by the Indian audience as the show raised the issue of ragging also.
