Ajay Nagrath is an Indian actor. He is quite known for his fat to fit story, other than his acting skills, was born on February 16, 1986. His father is
, who is an actor and assistant director, widely acknowledged for his work in the movies ‘

’ (1995) among others. Ajay attended Utpal Shanghvi School Parli, Maharashtra for his schooling. He has 3 sisters . He used to be a couch potato back then. In one of his interviews, he revealed, “After having a big meal, I would sit in front of the television with chips, snacks, and ice-cream. I was very lazy and would hardly go out or play any sports. But one day I decided that I had to lose weight. That was when I was around 16. I started going to the gym and at one point, I even managed to lose 20 kilos, but unfortunately put it back all over again! I could never lose weight consistently, which was very disheartening”.
Luck smiled on him and he got an offer for the show ‘ Biggest Loser Jeetega’. It was a show where participants would be shown losing weight, almost live. This show was aired on ‘Sahara One’ during 2007. The participants were required to do three rounds of vigorous cardio sessions and allowed to eat five adequate, lean and saltless meals. This worked for him and he left the show with sixty kg less weight and came down to 82 from earlier 140 Kgs. With the help of a weight trainer, a nutritionist and a fat loss advisor, he further reduced his weight to 65 Kgs. Now a fitness freak, he has changed his identity from a being roly-poly child artist to a six pack abs donning mature actor.
He started his acting career as a child artist and appeared in a TV serial ‘Shriman Shrimati’, telecast on DD National during 1995. The serial was re-telecast with the name of ‘Aaj ke Shriman Shrimati’ on SAB TV during 2005. He performed the role of ‘Chintu’, a very fat kid in the serial.
He has been a part of the industry for several years now and has done a number of films, TV serials and advertisements to his credit. As a child artist, his first movie was ‘
’ (1994) where he had played the role of a Judge's grandson Ravi and then he did a significant role in the movie ‘God and Gun’ (1995).
Later, he performed the role of “Dabboo” in the movie ‘Pardes’ (1997), ‘Bunty Mittal’ in ‘ Yeh Hai Jalwa’ (2002), Ram Singh’s son in ‘Ek Aur Ek Gyarah’ (2003).
Currently, Ajay is performing the role of inspector "Pankaj" in the TV serial ‘
’, which is being telecast on Sony TV. He has also acted in advertisements of Nestle Eclairs, Parle Candy, Vatania Ointment, Britania Khao World Cup Jao, Coca Cola and some others.
