Jayesh Patil is an Indian writer who writes for Hindi television serial. He is also a blogger, producer, content strategist, broadcaster and philanthropist. In a career spanning more than two decades, Jayesh has written over six thousand episodes for various television serials and channels and supervised more than fifteen thousand hours of TV content.
He is also known as Jayesh D. Patil. During his college days, Jayesh used to write scripts for stage plays which featured at various competitions and won several prices. He worked at the State Bank of India for about a decade but left the job to pursue his passion for the entertainment industry. Jayesh began his career in the television entertainment industry with the horror series Woh which aired on Zee TV in 1998.
Jayesh then worked in the Indian soap opera Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka directed by Vipul Shah from 1999 till 2002. This series was one of India’s longest-running series with one thousand episodes and aired on Sony TV. Jayesh is most well-known for writing episodes for the Hindi sitcom Bade Achhe Lagte Hai which aired on Sony TV from 2011 to 2014. He won the Indian Telly Jury Award for the Best Story Writer Award for the series in 2012. He was also nominated a Star Guild Award for the Best Writer in 2012 for the same serial. Jayesh also wrote the episodes of one of India’s longest-running sitcom Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan which aired on Star Plus. He was nominated for the Indian Telly Jury Award for the Best Screenplay Writer in 2007 for the 1449-episode long series. Jayesh was the Fiction Head and the Senior Creative Director of the Reliance Big Productions for about two and a half years. His duties included creating regional and Hindi content for the company, spotting talent, producing episodes and planning online content. He left Reliance to create his own production house Rugveda Arts which creates content for regional and national general entertainment channels. He took charge as the Programming Head of Star Pravah, a leading Marathi entertainment channel in 2013. Jayesh took charge of Star Pravah’s reality show Maharashtracha Dancing Superstar – Chhote Masters on 26th August 2013. The reality show was a dancing competition for children. Jayesh used outdoor advertising along with TV to promote the show and reach out to the target audience. The show aired from 23rd September 2013 onwards.
