According to the recent reports, the multi talented singer won’t be subject to any coercive action from the state government of Karnataka, provided he cooperates with the investigation related to the Bengaluru concert controversy.

In case you aren’t aware, Sonu Nigam had responded boldly to a bully who was forcing him to sing a song in Kannada at a concert in Bengaluru. Sonu compared the situation to what happened in Pahalgam on April 22, where more than 26 civilians were murdered by terrorists disguised in Army uniform.

Unfortunately, Sonu’s comments were taken negatively by the local media, and he was accused of insulting the sentiments of Kannadigas. Even though the singer offered to apologize, he was shadow banned by Sandalwood, and multiple FIRs were launched against him, which only went on to prove his point further.

This is not the first time that a celebrity was harassed by regional goons over absurd charges. Even Rashmika Mandanna, who actually began her career from the Kannada industry, has been harassed by politicians, with one even calling to teach her a lesson. A couple of years ago, Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn was bullied by the same goons when he defended Hindi as the national language.
