It aired on BTV.  The plot depicts a typical middle-class Bangladeshi family’s day-to-day life, touching topics like love, marriage, loss of life, and other social issues as well. The story ends with the death of a young girl, Tuni, due to leukemia.
Viewers had requested and even demanded that the creator Humayun Ahmed save the character, as it was beloved by the fans, but Ahmed was adamant about sticking to the original story. It was later revealed that Humayun Ahmed allegedly wrote this story only raise enough money to buy an expensive TV for himself.
