Humayun Ahmed is a Bangladeshi writer, director, and singer. He did his schooling at Chittagong Collegiate School and Borga Zilla School. He then did his High Schooling from Dhaka School. Then, he earned his Bachelors and Master’s in Chemistry from University of Dhaka. He became famous with his debut novel ‘Nondito Noroke.’ He wrote more than 200 fiction and non-fiction books. He worked in a total eight films and he also wrote some of the most popular soap operas in the 1990’s. Some of his popular works as a writer include ‘Aguner Poroshmoni,’ ‘Ghetuputra Komola,’ ‘Daruchini Dwip,’ and ‘Shongkhonil Karager.’ He is very famous for his literary works and for revolutionizing literary culture in Bangladesh. His novels are of non-violence, realistic, family and humor styles. He won the National Film Award seven times in directing, story and screenplay. He also won Bangla Academy Literary Award, and Ekushey Padak.
