Popularly known as Asaduzzaman Mohammad Raisul Islam, he is a Bangladeshi actor born on 15th July; 1953 in Dhaka, Dominion of Pakistan. He did his schooling at Dhaka Collegiate School and pursued for a Bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Dhaka. He started his acting career with roles in stage dramas of Ami Raja Hobo Na and Shorpo Bishoyok Golpo. In 1973, he acted in a feature film by Khan Atur Rahman, named Abar Tora Manush Ho. He has appeared in many films like Ghuddi in 1980, Suruj Miah in 1985, Padma Nadir Majhi in 1993, Dukhai in 1997, Lalasu in 2001, Duratta in 2006, Kaler Putul in 2018, Mission Extreme in 2021, and many more. In 1979, he married, to Tahira Di lAfroz, and had a daughter named Rubaina Zaman. He was also a member of Muktibahini and has been awarded the Best Supporting actor twice for his films, and National Film Award for best actor.
