Bulbul Ahmed, born Tabarruk Ahmed, was born on 4th September 1941 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was an eminent Bangladeshi actor and director. Born to Khalil Ahmed, a government employee and an amateur actor, Bulbul completed his graduation from the University of Dhaka. Being a son of a government employee, he started his career as a banker and then changed his career to chase his long-term passion for acting. Ahmed started his acting career in the year 1965 through stage performance. He performed in various stage shows, due to which he started getting offers for acting in various television serial dramas. He started his television career in the year 1968. He worked in numerous television shows, but it was Ei Shob Din Ratri that got him fame, and due to this, his transition from the television screen to the Silver Screen Silver Screen was a Malayalam show that was aired >> Read More... took place. He first appeared in movies in 1973 in a supporting role in Iye Korey Biye.
After that, there was no looking back for Ahmed. He played some vital roles in various movies like Dhire Bohe Meghna, Jibon Niye Jua, Shimana Periye, Mohona, Mahanayak, Bodnaani, and many more. Once he got immense success in the acting line, he even tried his hands on direction. He directed a total of 4 movies, Rajlakshmi Srikanta, Akarshan, Gorom Hawa, and Koto Je Apon. Apart from this, he even produced the same movie he directed, Rajlakshmi Srikanta, which won him the Best Film award. Moreover, he won the Bangladeshi National Film Award for Best Actor award three times for his roles in movies like Shimana Periye, Badhu Biday, and Shesh Uttar. The Bangladeshi film industry received a big blow when Ahmed died on 15th July 2010 in the Square Hospital in Dhaka, but the legacy that he has left behind will motivate a lot of generations to come.
