Aakashadoothu is a Malayalam mega serial which started as a sequel of the award winning film, Aakashadoothu, under the direction of
Sibi Malayil
that was released on 1993. Aakashadoothu was premiered on October 24, 2011 and aired on Surya TV channel. The serial is under the production of M. Ranjith from the Rajaputra Visual Media banner and directed by Aadithyan.
The story is about the lives of four children that were thrown to different families after the death of their parents. And about how they get related later on and how they find out each other. 16 years after seeing the four children going on their separate ways after their mother died, the serial started on Monu’s birthday celebration. Monu is the youngest among his siblings but since he was only a baby when he was given for adoption, he hardly remembers anything about his family. Meenu (played by Chippy) who is the eldest daughter has a lot of memories about her family.

It is a sequel to the megahit melodrama of the early 90’s film Akashadooth. This TV series is about the string of events after the film has ended and what happens after 20 years. This TV series is about the life of four siblings that are the children of Johnny and Annie played by Murali and Madhavi respectively. After their parents death all the four children that is Meena the eldest, Rony and Tony the twins and Monu the youngest are separated as different couples adopt all the children except for Rony and Tony who are adopted by the same man.
