Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is a television series that is being telecasted on SAB TV. This show was premiered on July 28th, 2008. Neela Telefilms is producing this sitcom. This series was adopted from the column of ‘Chitralekha’, which is a magazine in the Gujarati language. Taarak Mehta has written this column in the name ‘Duniya Na Oondha Chashmah’. He is a columnist cum journalist.

This series will run around, the events that are occurring in Gokuldham Cooperative Society. This is popular for its diversity. This society is the residence for people with different backgrounds as well as cultures. Apart from the families, there are also some other recurring characters in the serial like Abdul. He is the owner of the general stores. The plots that are shown in the serial will be closely associated with various characters that are getting trapped in some kind of trouble. A solution to the problem will always be found thereby giving the viewers with moral lessons.

After the completion of every episode, Shailesh Lodha who will be hosting as ‘Taarak Mehta’ will provide the viewers with the brief outline of that week’s particular story. He will also give us the teaser for the following episode. Dilip Joshi and Disha Vakani are taking the lead roles in the series. Dilip Joshi is casting as a businessperson and Disha Vakani is casting as his wife. Bhavya Gandhi, Amit Bhatt and Shailesh Lodha are also casting in this series.

Other actors who are appearing in this series include Neha Mehta, Munmun Dutta, Sonalika Joshi, Shyam Pathak and many more. In May 2014, this series acquired second place in the top ten list of fiction shows.

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the show that had been running for more than a decade had seen some cast and crew changes. In 2020, the makers replaced Sunayana Fozdar for Neha Mehta, who was playing Anjali Mehta on the show. Although Neha was the audience’s favorite star, Sunayana had made her character set well. The reason why Neha quit was not known, neither the makers nor the actress opened about it and she, who didn’t want to reveal it in public stated that silence is the best response on many occasions.   

Disha Vakani, who played the role of Dayaben, wife of Jethalal, played by Dilip Joshi, left the serial for maternity leave. Since 2017, she was not seen in the serial. She is one of the best performers in the serial and the favorite of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s fans. Like the fans, the makers are also highly expecting the return of Disha to the show.
