Shyam Pathak is a well known actor of the Indian television. Recently, he is famous with the name Patrakar Popatlal, a character in the serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah which is aired on SAB TV.

He belongs to a Gujarati family. To fulfill his mother’s wish he became CA, but he was not satisfied from his work. His dream was to be an actor. So, he joined National school of drama, without informing his family, where he mate a South Indian girl named Reshami. She was his classmate and later they both got married. They have one cute daughter named Niyati and one naughty son Parth. The famous film actor is his cousin.

Talking about his character Patrakar Popatlal, he is working in Toofan Express at post of crime reporter. He is shown in the serial, as an ageing bachelor who is always hunting for his wife, which makes him very funny in the serial. In the serial, he was born on 6th June, 1976 at 6:06pm. In the serial, he always carries an umbrella with him. His famous dialogues in the serial are cancel kardo and duniya hila doonga.

Apart from this he has done many other serials like, as Dheeraj Mehta. This show explains the life of middle classed family, how they save a penny and how they become rich suddenly. This show was aired on Sony TV from 10-9-2009 to 13-05-2010.

He has also worked in Jasuben Jayantilaal Joshi Ki Joint Family as Rajendra Jayantilaal Joshi which was telecasted between 21-1-2008 to 28-3-2009 on NDTV Imagine. This serial, explains the values of joint family and the situation they are facing in the joint family. He has also worked with in a Chinese film named Lust Caution (2007) as a Jewelry shopkeeper. Lust caution was a thriller movie. This movie has won many awards.
