is an Indian television series broadcast on Sony TV, based on the novel Durgeshnandini by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee, the first Bengali romance and the first Bengali novel published in 1865. The story of Durgesh Nandini represents the two sides of Indian life – the modern, wealthy life on one side and the rural life on the other. The story of this series takes off when millionaire industrialist Dharamadas Shrivastava dies and makes an oblivious, parentless girl named Durgesh Nandini, who lives in a countryside village, the full trustee of its property and business. After knowing that the father has given away his entire business fortune to a stranger, the two sons and one daughter are shocked. The whole family is very annoyed when Durgesh arrives at their bungalow with his family and cattle and sets up his little village in their beautiful, wealthy home. From there, the story takes off.
