Vanjagar Ulagam is a crime thriller flick written and directed by Manoj Beedha. Vinayak has co-scripted the film. Manoj Beedha produced the film along with Prasanna GK. Joker fame Guru Somasundaram, Anisha Ambrose, Hareesh Peradi, Chandini Tamilarasan, Azhagam Perumal, Vasu Vikram, Vishagan Vanangamudi, Jayaprakash Radhakrishnan and Ciby Bhuvana Chandran are in the star cast. Sam CS of Vikram Vedha fame is the music director. Rodrigo Del Rio Herrara and Saravanan Ramasamy handled the camera and Anthony is the editor.

Sampath is a gangster and a ruthless fellow, who had no ambition in his life. He had not derived anything in his life and lives as per his wish. The film is about Sampath, the inspector who chases him and the incidents that are spun along with some more characters. Watch the film in theaters to get the right essence of the film.

Star Performance

Right from the experienced stars to the newcomers, all have performed well. However, the performance of Guru Somasundaram stays at our heart. He has played a psychotic character, who is a ruthless killer. Vasu Vikram played the inspector Neelamegam and had attracted the audiences with his performance.

The director Manoj Beedha has come up with a different genre. The script and the screenplay are good and Manoj had chosen the right set of actors in the casting end. The cinematography is excellent. Notably, the night sequences and the gangsters’ places are beautifully captured by the cinematographers. The editing is good, but we could feel that the second half could have been trimmed a bit. Sam CS’ music is very good and the BGM gels with the script. Sam CS’ experimental attempt is highly appreciable.

What’s There?

  • Performance of the stars is excellent
  • Comedy is laced between the dialogues and it is good
  • Excellent star cast that makes the audience feel good

What’s Not There?

  • Some scenes are predictable
  • The second half should have been trimmed

If the predictable scenes are made properly with some more suspense elements, the film might have been intense. However, the script, screenplay and Guru Somasundaram attract the viewers for sure!
