Plot
Saravanan and Kumudha are husband and wife. Saravanan doesn’t get support from anyone to make his invention useful to the public. Kumudha supports him and works as a teacher. Arjun is married to actress Padma. Arjun was a successful cricketer who has been in his career’s low phase. Arjun and Kumudha are schoolmates. Kumudha compares Saravanan with Arjun. Their lives take a different turn, and a test match becomes the centre of it. What happened to the India Vs Pakistan test match, which is considered the last match for Arjun? What’s the connection between the match and Saravanan? The rest of the film speaks about that.
Star Performance
Madhavan’s performance is excellent. He emoted well as a person who is torn between his ambitions and reality. Nayanthara did her best. But, in a few places, her performance looked underwhelming. Maddy and Nayan’s chemistry is good. Siddharth’s performance is unimpressive, showing the same expression throughout. Why director? Meera Jasmine and Siddharth’s chemistry is in a single-digit percentage.
Analysis
The story is solid, and the actors are extremely brilliant. However, due to weak writing, the film didn’t have enough elevations. Meera Jasmine’s comeback in Tamil has no value for her. The BGM elevated certain scenes. Good work, Shakthisree. The visuals are decent. Though the film has a normal running time, the weak writing made it appeal to a stretchy drama. Though the film didn’t test our patience, it made us think why these scenes and why these dialogues.
