Nayanthara is in legal trouble again, but this time, it’s not because of Dhanush.
According to the recent reports, the Madras High Court has issued notice to the makers of Nayanthara’s wedding documentary Nayanthara : Beyond the Fairtale. The notice has been issued after AP International filed a case of copyright infringement against the actress, Netflix and TARC Studios.
But what was the reason? Nayanthara had been a part of the iconic Chandramukhi, which was backed by AP International, and starred Rajinikanth, Jyothika, Prabhu etc. in prominent roles. Some of the behind the scenes footage from the 2005 movie were used in the wedding documentary, to which AP International raised their objections.
This is not the first time Nayanthara faced a court case over the documentary. Dhanush had sued the actress over using clips from his movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, for which he demanded 1 crores in compensation. The Madras High Court rejected Netflix India’s petition to dismiss the same.
Before this controversy, Nayanthara was involved in another major controversy over her culinary drama Annapoorani. The movie was severely criticized for mocking the local rituals, and massive backlash forced Netflix India to remove the movie from its watchlist.
