There are many actors in Marathi, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and other regional film industries who got recognition in their respective regional language film industry and then gained huge fame through working in Bollywood films. 1. Ravi Kishan

Ravi Kishan is a popular Bhojpuri actor, who also works in Bollywood films. He did many blockbuster films like Tere Naam (2003), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), and Welcome to Sajjanpur (2008). He debuted with ‘Pitambar,’ for which he was paid Rs. 5000. He has also participated in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5. In 2014, he contested from Jaunpur (Lok Sabha constituency) for the Congress party but lost to Krishna Pratap Singh of BJP.

2. Fawad Khan

Fawad Afzal Khan is a Pakistani actor and singer. He was born on June 01, 1981, in Karachi, Pakistan. Khan made his film debut with a supporting role in the 2007 Pakistani movie Khuda Kay Liye. He went on to garner popularity with lead roles in the television shows Dastaan (2010), Humsafar (2011), and Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012). He made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat (2014), for which he won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Later he was seen in Kapoor & Sons (2016). Khan married Sadaf Khan on 12 November, 2005 after a courtship of 8 years. He has one son and a daughter with his wife, Sadaf. However, a clamor against Pakistani artists broke out just before the release of filmmaker Karan Johar’s directorial Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016), which featured Fawad in a cameo, resulting in his leaving the country.

3. Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth is one of those actors who got recognition all-over India. He is populary known for his personality and simple life style. He did great movies like Kabaali and Kaala, which even dubbed in other languages. Rajinikanth made his Bollywood debut in 1983 with Andha Kanoon. He appeared with Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan in the movie ‘Hum.’ Later he also worked in very famous Bollywood movies, one of them is Chaalbaaz. He is like a God to his fans. There were many cases where people worshipped him in their homes.

4. Sridevi

Sridevi made her debut in a Tamil film, Thunaivan (1969), at the age of six years. In 1917, she won a Kerala state award for best child artist for her performance in ‘Poompatta,’ a Malayalam film. She has done films not only in Tamil and Hindi but also in Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu. Her Bollywood debut film was Solva Sawan. Her film Himmatwala (1983), was a blockbuster. Her role in Yas Chopra’s Chandni (1989) earned her a household name, and the film won the National Award for Best Popular Film that year. She was also one of the highest-paid-actress from 1985 to 1992. Her last film was Mom. She was very popular for her expressions and dancing skills.

5. Prakash Raj

Prakash Raj is popularly known for his negative roles in Hindi films. Prakash Raj is an established actor, producer, director, and television presenter in the Indian film industry. He has gained enormous fame in the South film industry. Later, he tried his luck in Bollywood too, and he got successful. He appeared in many blockbuster films like Wanted (2009), Singham (2011), and Dabangg 2 (2012).

6. Dhanush

Dhanush is an Indian actor, producer, and screenwriter. He is popularly known for his contribution to Tamil cinema. He made his acting debut in 2002 with the coming-age drama Thulluvadho Ilamai. He has also done movies in Bollywood and Hollywood. He has done two blockbuster films in Bollywood. His debut film was Ranjhanaa, opposite Sonam Kapoor. 7. Shruti Haasan

Shruti Haasan is the daughter of veteran actor Kamal Haasan. She was born on 28th January, 1986. She made her Bollywood debut through the film ‘Luck’ (2009). She is a trained dancer and singer. She also received the Stardust Award for Superstar of Tomorrow – Female nomination. She has done many blockbuster films in Bollywood, which include Ramaiya Vatavaiya (2013), Gabaar Is Back (2015), and Behen Hogi Teri (2017).

8. R. Madhavan

Ranganathan Madhavan is an Indian actor, writer, and film producer. He mostly appears in Tamil and Hindi language films. He is one of those actors who got recognition pan-India. In 2000, Madhavan gained recognition in Tamil cinema by playing the lead role in Mani Ratnam's romantic drama film Alaipayuthey. 9. Diljit Dosanjh

Diljit's critically-acclaimed film Jogi is a friendship drama set against the background of the anti-Sikh riots that took place in India in 1984. Abbas Zafar directed the film. He did several films, including Soorma, Good Newwz, Jogi, and others. He got huge appreciation for her role from the audience. He is a very popular Punjabi singer also.

10. Tamannaah Bhatia

Tamannah Bhatia is a very popular actress in the South film industry. At the age of 13, she was offered a lead role film. Her acting got recognition in her debut Telugu film ‘Sri’ opposite Manoj Kumar in 2006. She is popular in Tamil and Telugu film industries with the name ‘Milky Beauty.’She was seen in ‘Himmatwala’ directed by Sajid Khan. Later she also worked in films such as Tutak Tutak Tutiya (2016), Entertainment (2014), and Babli Bouncer (2022).
