Plot
Kuyili is born into a humble family. She fell in love with her neighbor and married him. Although her husband was a teetotaler, due to others’ influence, he became addicted to alcohol. During a scuffle in the arrack shop, Kuyili’s husband was killed. Angry Kuyili sets fire to the arrack shop. She starts her protest against alcohol. Did she succeed in her protest?
Star Performance
Thasmiga is good in her role as Kuyili. Lizzie Antony did justice to her role. Ravicha played Kuyili’s husband. Pudhupettai Suresh tried his best to establish himself as a villain. Arunkumar played the collector.
Analysis
Director Murugasamy tried to showcase how alcoholism spoils a family. The first half is designed as a story focused on a village woman who is against alcohol, and the second half has politics. However, the screenplay is not gripping, which weakens the film. In some places, the director didn’t succeed in getting the right work from the actors, as their acting appears artificial. The visuals are okay, and the songs are decent. The BGM should’ve been better.
