Rockstar Ramani Ammal

Rockstar Ramani Ammal is a renowned stage name of a Tamil singer Ramani Ammal. She was born in the year 1954, in Tamil Nadu, India. She is a brilliant playback, and Indian folk singer. She became famous after participating in a singing television reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors, on Zee Tamil in 2017. She got the nickname Rockstar from the judges of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Tamil. She belongs to a middle-class family, and she had to sacrifice her studies, due to her family’s condition. She pursued music at a young age as her interest, but became a maid to earn money as a source of income. She has sung songs at marriage functions to keep her musical interest alive. She worked as a housemaid for a long time until she got her first opportunity to sing a song in a movie. However, she did not get many chances in films, and went back to her work as a housemaid.

She made her debut, as a playback singer in the movie Kaadhal in 2004. She made her television debut, in the year 2017 with the reality show, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Seniors at 63. She was among the Top Ten Finalists of the show, and also became the first runner-up in the Grand Finale, which was held on April 15, 2018. After the success she got in the show, she got more film opportunities. She has conducted her concerts in Singapore, the United States, and Sri Lanka. He worked as a playback singer in many films, namely Kaathavarayan in 2008, Haridas in 2013, Junga, and Sandakozhi 2 in 2018, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja, and Kaappaan in 2019. Her songs include Kaathavaraya Saamy in 2008, Vellakuthirai in 2013, Rise of Junga, and Sengarattan Paaraiyila in 2018, Internet Pasanga, and Sirukki in 2019.
