Plot
Neeraj, an influential businessman, seeks the help of an honest ex-CBI officer, Deepak, to distribute the bribe amount to politicians so as not to raise questions regarding the oil resource which he plans to own. Deva is a beggar. Deepak crosses paths with Deva and involves him in his deal with Neeraj. Will that work for them? Will Neeraj be successful? The rest of the film speaks about these.
Star Performance
Dhanush excels in the role of Deva. This is one of his career-best performances. His body language and dialogue delivery had always been excellent. The same continues in Kuberaa. Nagarajuna has done a good role, which is stuck between his principles and family. He is stylish as usual. Rashmika has got a decent role to perform. She is given good dialogue, too. Jim is decent in his antagonist role. Dilip Tahil and Sayaji Shinde did what was required. The rest of the stars are okay with their performances.
Analysis
Sekhar Kammula’s movies always have a lot of emotions and relationship dynamics. Kuberaa is not an exemption from those. It is a great idea to cast actors like Nag and Dhanush for their roles. Rashmika has got a good role that enables her to perform subtly. It is interesting to see her getting good dialogue. DSP’s BGM is one of the biggest pluses. Many emotional scenes got perfectly elevated with his BGM. The cinematography is good. The editing should’ve been better in the first half.
