Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum is a romantic thriller directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi, who previously directed Puriyaatha Puthir with Vijay Sethupathi. The film has the star cast of Harish Kalyan, Shilpa Manjunath, Ma Ka Pa Anand and Bala Saravanan. Sam CS is the music composer. Kavin Raj cranked the camera and Vivek Harshan edited the film. Balaji Kapa produced the film under Madhav Media.

Gautham and Tara are lovers. The made for each other couple, love deeply. The main plot of the film is how a deep love turns into an addiction and how it affects the lives of the lovers.

Star Performance

Harish Kalyan had broken his chocolate boy image and had proved that he could also be a mass hero. He is entirely different from that of his role in Pyaar Prema Kaadhal. His performance is excellent and so does Shilpa’s. Her chemistry with Harish had worked out well. Ma Ka Pa and Bala had done their part well.

Although Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum is a romantic thriller, the film has a different treatment in love. We couldn't say that this is a unique script, but with a different screenplay. Ranjit has handled the romantic story brilliantly. But, at a certain stage, the audiences feel what they are trying to say. The second half tests the patience. The cinematography is excellent. The editing in the second half should have been better. The present generation youth could connect the film with some incidents that happened in their life.

What’s There?

  • The chemistry between the lead pair is brilliant
  • Sam CS music is perfect
  • Kavin Raj’s visuals are eye catchy

What’s Not There?

  • The second half is dragging
  • A lot of logical loopholes

Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum has a lot of romance and emotions. This might be a good treat for the lovers, but doubtful for the family audiences.
