Plot
A group of scientists are going into an operation to search for a kind of fuel by digging the earth. As the plan stops midway due to some hindrances, they start analyzing a meteor that fell in India. Tattoo, an alien, lands on the earth searching for the meteor. But, it got stuck into the hands of the wrong people. How it meets Tamil, who resides with his mother in the Poomparai area in Kodaikanal, and how Tamil and Tattoo save the earth from the wrong hands, form the rest of the story.
Star Performances
Sivakarthikeyan has done a decent job in the film. His expressions and body language are good, as usual. Bhanu Priya has nothing significant to do, yet she did a fair job. Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, and Isha Koppikar add value to their roles. Yogi Babu and Karunakaran bring laughs without dull vibes.
Analysis
The first thing to be discussed about the film is the VFX. KJR Studios has spent a lot on the VFX, and it worked out well. The next major thing is the voice of the alien by Siddharth. His modulations helped the alien’s role to get a lively feel among the audience. Though the story is not very impressive and some scenes are not bridged well, the way the film makes the audience enjoy is appreciable, and thanks to the director Ravikumar for making a decent film to enjoy with the family. The comedy worked out well, and the director should be appreciated for making the comedy gel well with the script, unlike some separate comedy tracks that we see in some recent movies. AR Rahman’s music is okay. The visuals and editing are pretty decent.

Verdict
Though the film has a few flaws, Sivakarthikeyan and the team have brought a good family entertainer to enjoy this Pongal season. Ayalaan – watchworthy!
