If the movie earns 50 crores before the release of ‘Vettaiyan’ , it will become the first Tamil movie to earn the status of a commercial blockbuster. While the highest grossing movie for the Tamil industry this year has been ‘GOAT: The Greatest of All Time’, it is far from successful, with the budget itself being above 400 crores.
Dhanush’s second movie as a director, is so far the most successful movie in Tamil cinema in terms of revenue, with a worldwide collection of 166 crores. However, since the budget was itself 75 crores, the movie could earn only the tag of a ‘HIT’.
