Plot
The story's plot revolves around the life of a cricketer. It is a biographical movie about Muthiah Muralidaran. He belonged to Tamil. However, he was suppressed by the society, keeping him away from his desires. The film captures Muthiah’s life which was filled with twists and turns. He was a centre of laughter, and his friends often bullied him. However, he found solace in cricket. He was earlier recognised as only a fast bowler but today he has become the highest wicket taker bowler in the history of cricket. Muthiah sets the record for taking 800 wickets in Test Cricket. He proved his nationality for Sri Lanka even though he was an ethnic Tamil.
Star performance
The main character of the story is Muttiah Muralitharan. Madhur Mittal plays his character. He depicts Muttiah perfectly as a human being with a good heart and as a record breker cricketer. The balance between emotions of his character is palpable as he is shown as weak, fragile however, transforms into an excellent bowler. He delivered a nuanced performance which kept audiences on the screen throughout the movie.
Other characters like Mahima Nambiar as Madhimalar, King Ratnam as Arjuna Ranatunga, Nassar as Mugunthan Sathasivam, Narain as master and Yog Japee as Chandra Schaffter have also delivered fantastic performance in the movie. Their presence made the storyline more interesting. They highlights character of Madhur Mittal who is the protagonist in the movie.

Therefore, it turns out to be a reliable source. The title of the movie “800” symbolises the number of wickets Muttiah took in Test Cricket. For someone, who belonged to a labourer class it becomes essential to get recognisation. Therefore, this movie is legendary. The storyline is quite intense and exciting. It makes the movie more authentic. It forms a unique inspirational story. However, the pace of the film is problematic. The film is watchable.
The main cast of the movie specifically Madhur Mittal as Muttiah is fantastic. The supporting cast have also delivered a fantastic performance highlighting the flaws in the movie. The film also have an amazing cinematography. The soundtracks are also enjoyable and motivational. It perfectly depicts the authentic elements of the film.
