Ramesh Vethanayagam

Ramesh Vethanayagam was an actor in the Tamil and the UK film industry. He was born on 23rd August 1962 and brought up in Sri Lanka. He completed his education at St Anthony's College, Kayts, Sri Lanka. He started his career as an accountant at Dixons Retail in the UK. He had been passionate about acting. But, due to his work pressure, he was unable to become a full-time actor. After his retirement, he started performing full-time in feature films and TV dramas.

While he was in the UK, he had been working in radio and TV dramas. He starred in a small role in the hit show East Enders, which had been running since 1985. In 2018, he played in a short, New Boy. The same year, he played in the film, Mohini. In 2019, he performed as one of the Ministers in The Accidental Prime Minister. The same year, he played in Blinded By The Light, Taken For A Ride, “Pagalpanti,” and Worzel Gummidge. In 2020, Ramesh worked in Street Dancer 3D. The next year, he was seen in The Family Man. In 2021, he worked in Jagame Thandhiram, Seasons Of Life, and Shiva’s Daughter. In 2023, Ramesh was seen in Mission Raniganj, “ 800 Click to look into! >> Read More... ,” and the TV series The Crown.

On 22nd October 2023, he passed away in London due to motor neuron disease. In 2024, his movie Cholay was released. In 2025, his movie Andaz Tera Mera released, making it to be his final appearance.
