Joshiy, who is an acclaimed director in Mollyood,  makes a comeback with Runway (after not tasting the required success at the box office with few films), which has Dileep in the lead. Let’s see how the film has turned out to be.

Dileep is working in Gulf and he takes care of his family (his mother Kavioor Ponnamma and brother Indrajeet) in India by sending money for their daily expenses including education of his brother. Kavya Madhavan stays along with her father in the outhouse of Dileep. Kaviyoor Ponnamma develops a liking for Kavya and imagines her to her daughter-in-law.

The family of Dileep doesn’t know about the illegal  spirit business that he is handling. While Dileep comes to India his mother tells about her marriage plan to him and he is visibly upset. He reveals the reason for his heartbreak to Kavya. What is the bad past of Dileep? Does he marry Kavya? What is the role of Indrajeet in the film? What are the startling things that the film unfolds? Watch the film to know more.

Star Performances

The film is worth watching due to the onscreen charisma of Dileep. As usual he excels in comedy. But he should be applauded for taking up action, which is new to him. And yes. He has done a satisfactory job in this new avatar.

Kavya Madhavan has done her part well. Special mention must be made to Indrajit who has delivered an earnest performance. Murali too excels in his role. Bhavana comes in a special appearance for a song. Harishree Ashokan and Cochin Haneef add to the comic streak of the film.

Joshiys‘s forte is action films; he had earlier made big budget action films with big cast. And he was appreciated for that too. Now he teams up with Dileep for an action entertainer.

What’s there?

  • The camerawork of P Sukumar is outstanding.
  • There is a balanced mix of sentiments and comedy in the film.

What’s not there?

  • The film doesn’t have the energy of Joshiy’s previous films.
  • The script of Sibi-Udayan is not up to the expectations. This may be due to the reason that they had earlier worked only in comedy films.
