Plot
Benz, aka Shanmugam, is a taxi driver in the Pathanamthitta area. He is married to Lalitha, and the couple has two kids. Benz was once a stunt man in Madras. He met Lalitha there, fell in love, and got married. Benz owns a black ambassador car, and he loves it. He doesn’t even allow anyone to get seated in the driver’s seat of his car. Unfortunately, the police seize his taxi after it is involved in a case. The efforts by Benz to get back his taxi form the rest of the film.
Star Performance
Mohanlal proves again and again that he is a natural actor. His chemistry with Shobana is astounding. Shobana’s screen presence is exciting. Her Tamil accent is fine. Prakash’s villainism is good. Binu excels in the given role.
Analysis
The director should be appreciated for picking the right cast. Once again it is exciting to see Lalettan and Shobana as the lead pair. Their chemistry elevates the film well. Jake Bejoy’s BGM fits well. The visuals are good, especially the close-up shots of Lalettan and Shobana, which are fine to showcase their seamless chemistry. Recently, we have seen good dialogue in various Tamil films, which were directed by the fan boys of the super actors. One such film is “
