Rhaatee is a romantic film filmed in Kannada. It also has hints of thriller and action. The plot of the movie involves a couple's romantic story and the challenges faced by them. Satya Hegde handled the cinematography in the movie. Deepu S. Kumar edited the movie. V. Harikrishna dealt with the soundtracks of the film. Plot
The movie’s story is about a young couple named Raja and Rani. A few months ago, they got engaged. The film is shot in a small village Keregodu. Rani and Raja got engaged and they wanted to marry in city. To shop for wedding, they went to Bangalore. Before shopping, Rani wanted to watch her favourite actor’s newest movie. She was a big fan of Darshan. They went to Mahadeshwara threatre to watch the latest release of Darshan, which was named Sangolli Rayanna. On their way inside theater Rani went in women’s restroom. Raja noticed that Rani had gone for too long. He checked in the washroom but couldn’t find her after searching everywhere including the outskirts of Bangalore.
However, few days later Rani came to Raja by herself. She tells him that her kidney has been removed illegally by the organ traders. Shankar was behind this, so Raja abruptly kills him in a fight. After that they ran to Muthathi forest to escape the racket. There they met Jaganna, an auto driver. He helps them to navigate through the forest. He has been a great help to Rani and Raja. However, unfortunately one day some goons attacked Rani. They somehow escaped from the attackers and entered the theatre to save their lives. There Raja met Shankar’s brother Seena who was finding them from past many days to take revenge of his brother’s death. Seena tracked their location with the help of an auto driver. Seena kills Raja and Rani in a combat. Jaganna was helping them in their wedding shopping but when he reached the theatre to meet them, he found them dead.
Star performance
The movie has a limited character list as it focuses on the story of some particular characters. The main characters of the story are Raja and Rani. Dhananjay played Raja’s character. Throughout the film, Dhananjay’s acting skills are fantastic. He portrayed Raja as a unique and a fun character in the story. His acting was colourful, having a blend of different emotions. Shruthi Hariharan plays the character of Rani. Shruthi has delivered an impressive performance in the film. Her presence makes the story exciting and authentic as she balances the challenging emotions in various scenes. Rani’s character develops as the movie proceeds.
Suchendra Prasad, Bullet Prakash, Uday are the supporting cast. They have delivered an average performance in the film.
Analysis
Rhaatee is a fantastic movie. The film’s script is about a couple, who encounter many problems before their wedding. The genre of the movie includes romance, action and thriller. The storyline of the movie is interesting, however the ending didn’t do justification to the main characters. Both Rani and Raja get killed in the end. Overall, the movie is exciting and unique. It is not just a regular romantic movie but also uncovers the illegal practice of trading organs in the country. The filmmakers did a fantastic job. Moreover, the execution of the script is elegant. The direction is impressive as well.
The storyline is easy to understand and connect. The chemistry between the main actors and supporting actors is palpable. The movie has few characters. The main lead Dhananjay and Shruthi Hariharan did a great job. The supporting actors have delivered average performance. The film has an excellent cinematography. The plot of the movie is unpredictable, which makes it unique and compelling to watch. The soundtracks in the film are intense, adding depth to the movie.
