Hindi Medium is scripted by Zeenat Lakhani and helmed by Saket Chaudhary. Irrfan Khan, Saba Qamar, Deepak Dobriyal, Swati Das, Dishita Sehgal, Jaspal Sharma, Rohit Tannan and Devansh Sharma are in the star cast. The movie is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Dinesh Vijan. Sachin and Jigar composed the songs and Amar Mohile composed the background score.

Raj Batra is the owner of a fashion studio in Old Delhi. He lives a comfortable life with his wife Mithoo and his cute daughter Priya. While Raj is satisfied with his lifestyle, Mithoo’s idea is different. She wants to move to a posh area in south Delhi, which might give her some value to their income. She wishes to have an upper class life. The posh area didn’t satisfy them, as they don’t have knowledge of English. Sham Prakash, the daily wage worker gets introduced with the Batras. The problem starts when they seek an admission for their daughter Priya in an English medium school. Did the Batras get a seat for their daughter in an English school? Watch it on the silver screen.

Star Performance

Irrfan’s performance is astounding as usual. His comical performance makes the audiences to watch the scenes again and again. Saba, the Pakistani star didn’t seem to be a new girl to Bollywood and performs naturally.

Zeenat Lakhani’s script matches the current scenario and it is helmed sensibly by Saket Chaudhary. The thoughts of the people in the modern world and their wish to improve their standard of living is beautifully shown in Hindi Medium.

What’s There?

  • The performance of the lead stars Irrfan Khan, Saba Qamar and Deepak Dobriyal is very impressive.
  • Direction by Saket is appreciable
  • The transformation of Irrfan and Saba from the Chandni Chowk residents to Vasant Vihar residents is neatly captured

What’s Not There?

  • Just a few flaws, which need not be pinpointed

Irrfan’s excellent performance makes the audiences to watch it again. The film shows the current education scenario and the system of private schools. Dobriyal’s emotions and dialogues would stay with the audiences at least for a couple of days, after watching the film. Watch the film in theaters! You would feel the pain of Sham played by Dobriyal.
