Great performances by actors are often recognized by critics and audiences too. Many brilliant performances by actors gather their appreciation and even awards. But every year, some great performances go unrecognized or do not receive enough appreciation, especially if the movie does not do well at the box office. Today we are looking at some of the great performances that sadly went unrecognized.
Arguably Kay Kay Menon’s best performance, this one went completely unnoticed. One reason could have been that it didn’t do well at the box office. Menon plays Brigadier Rudra Pratap Singh, a cold-hearted and strict army officer, and shines in his role. The movie is a remake of the Hollywood film A Few Good Men. Menon was perfectly cast in his role and delivered a masterful performance. His interrogation scene in the movie brings out the best in him and is probably the movie’s best scene.
Akshaye Khanna is a brilliant actor, and audiences have finally realized that with his recent performances in movies like Section 375 and Ittefaq. But the actor’s most stellar performance comes in this underrated film, where he plays the eldest son of the Indian freedom fighter, M.K. Gandhi. He gives a layered performance as Hiralal, who is unable to live in his father’s gigantic shadow, and resorts to alcoholism. We wish that more people will come to recognize and appreciate this performance of his.

perfectly. He also delivers the movie’s best comedic dialogues. He remains a hugely underrated actor, and we wish to see the day when he will get his due recognition and accolades.
Ranvir Shorey has given many brilliant performances in his career spanning over two decades. His performance in Titli is especially a great one. He plays a gangster who wants to stop his brother from breaking free from his crime family.Ranvir plays his role to perfection as a violent and short-tempered criminal. The movie is a masterpiece in every aspect and is made even more remarkable by Ranvir’s performance.
In one of the best debuts in Bollywood’s history, Ohlyan shines in her role as a young policewoman in Delhi. She works to address the growing crimes against women but suffers many professional and personal setbacks. She gives a powerful performance as Soni and dominates the screen the whole time. It doesn’t even feel like this is her first time in front of the camera. But instead, the members gave the Best Debut Filmfare Award to

, his performance in Omerta remains underrated. He plays the role of Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh.Playing the role of a terrorist is difficult for any actor, and Rajkummar revealed that he went in too deep while portraying the character that he was somewhat happy about the Paris attacks of 2015. Still, Rajkummar gives a brilliant and convincing performance in this film.
Gulshan Devaiah remains a hugely underrated actor whose performances often don’t get the appreciation they deserve. In this film, he plays a double role, one of the good-hearted Mani and the other of the evil Jimmy. He shines in both roles, primarily as Jimmy, the psychotic villain. Both the characters are very different from each other, but Gulshan plays both of them with much conviction. His performance in this film remains one of his best.
Sushant gave many brilliant performances in his career, one of them was in Sonchiriya, which remains hugely underrated. He plays the role of a dacoit Lakha, a criminal but a humble and sensitive man on the inside.Sushant portrays the character perfectly, giving a flawless performance. The whole movie remains underrated and sadly failed at the box office. Apart from Sushant, it also features excellent performances by

Vineet gave a mind-blowing performance in Mukkabaaz. He transforms ultimately into Shravan, an aspiring boxer. His devotion to the role can be seen in the fact that he shifted to a training academy in Chandigarh for two years to work on his physique and learn boxing. He even sustained some severe injuries during the time being, but he never gave up. He gave an outstanding performance in this film which went completely unnoticed, and didn’t receive any accolades or nominations. Vineet deserves much praise for this role.
