Saket Chaudhary

Saket Chaudhary is a prominent director and screenwriter of Bollywood. He has directed the popular Hindi films- Pyar Ke Side Effects (2006), Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014), and Hindi Medium Click to look into! >> Read More... (2017). He was born into an upper-middleclass family. He spent most of his schooling and college years in Delhi. He aspired to become an engineer. However, in the later phase of his life, he changed his focus. He was involved in writing plays during his college and school life. Since he belonged to a middle-class family, he never thought of making films. It was in the second year of Physics (Hons.) that he decided to take up something which he was interested in doing. He went to the Department of Media and Communication Studies (DMCS), Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). He came to know about the international cinema and different aspects of film making in the mass communication university. Advertising field was primarily his focus. He never thought about making feature films.

Saket worked in a production house as an assistant director and also wrote for small tv shows. There was a case of plagiarism against Hindi Medium, the third film directed by him which was proved to be wrong later. He was nominated for the Filmfare award in the category of Best Director and has also received the Filmfare award.
