CAST & CREW
The collaboration of Mohit Suri and Emraan Hashmi is famous for its hits like, “Raaz- the Mystery Continues” and a few other films. Though the movie grossed average collections at the box-office, it was declared a flop.
Vidya Balan plays the character of Vasudha, as a single mother whose husband’s status has been unknown. Emraan plays the character of Aarav Ruparel.
Vasudha is a florist. She happens to meet Aarav Ruparel in one of his hotels, where she works.
Aarav fakes a fire drill to test the attentiveness of the fire department and in the process, Vasudha tries to save him. Impressed by her courage and love for human beings, Aarav offers a job to her in Dubai in one of his hotels. She refuses the offer. Though she rejected his offer, he persistently requests her to take up his offer. Meanwhile, she happens to know that Hari, Vasudha’s husband, is a wanted suspect in the murder of American journalists, and the police ask her to share any information if he comes into contact with her. Afraid of her son’s future, she agrees to Aarav’s offer and goes to Dubai.
Though Aarav knows about her past and that she is a mother, he loves her. Aarav shares details with her about his mother, who was a single mother too and worked as a cabaret singer, who loved a person and that it is not unnatural for a single married woman to love another person.
On his request, she meets his mother and accepts his love. Before dropping her home, he hands over divorce papers to her. On reaching her home, she finds Hari, and informs him about Aarav. The police arrest Hari at her home and by his actions, she feels that he is innocent, and hence, she requests Aarav to protect Hari. She also says that she cannot accept his love as she finds that Hari is sacrificing himself for her.
Aarav bribes the state C.M., but he explains that Hari has accepted his guilt. To prove Hari’s innocence, Aarav goes to where the incident of his fake crime happened, Bastar. He encounters father Dayal, and he explains to him about the death of the journalists, and hence proves Hari’s innocence.
On reaching Mumbai, he follows a scent, which he first smelt when he met Vasudha, and unknowingly steps on a landmine. On receiving the death news of Aarav, Vasudha is shattered and leaves her home. Hari searches for a few years to find her and asks her to come along with him.
She refuses. In anger, he shouts at her. He says that she would return to him one day, but he doesn’t know that he has to wait for a long time.
This happens as a flashback. In the present, after 21 years, Hari collects the ashes of Vasudha, and unites it at the place of the death of Aarav, and thus they unite after death, justifying the title.
The movie is concentrated on drama as equally as romance, like the rest of Mohit Suri’s films. Though the romance of the lead actor and actress worked out on the screen, the film failed to convince its potential to the audience.
As we all know, Vidya Balan is celebrated for her excellent acting performance and Emraan Hashmi for his romantic appeal, which worked out very well in this movie.
1. The movie is a romantic drama, which is well balanced.
2. The acting performances of Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi are delightful to watch.
What’s not there?
1. As everyone expects romance in any Emraan Hashmi and Mohit Suri film, this movie lacked in the romance aspect.
2. The story is not a bolstering part.
“ Hamari Adhuri Kahani” is watchable for romance loving movie-goers, and can enjoy it to the maximum extent.
