According to the recent reports, his next movie Ground Zero will have a red carpet premiere in Srinagar on April 18, a week before its official release on April 25. This is phenomenal achievement, since it has been 38 years since a Bollywood production exclusively premiered its movies in Jammu & Kashmir. After the rise of terrorism, cinemas were almost banned in Kashmir until 2010. It wasn’t until the contentious Article 370 was revoked, that normalcy finally returned to the Kashmir Valley.

Ground Zero is based on an untold chapter from the Indian history. The movie is based on the notorious militant Rana Tahir Nadeem, who was also the mastermind behind the Parliament attacks that occurred in December 2001.

Ghazi Baba was also involved in multiple terror attacks on the Indian establishment, including bombings on the Army headquarters, as well as the Jammu & Kashmir legislative assembly. He was finally  gunned down by BSF operatives in an encounter in August 2003.
