According to the recent reports, talks are going on between Maddock Films and Rajkummar Rao for the Ujjwal Nikam biopic. Ujjwal Nikam is a prominent lawyer turned politician. He was the public prosecutor in several prominent cases, including the Black Friday attacks, the Gulshan Kumar Born on 5th May 1956 to a Punjabi family, Gulshan >> Read More... case, the 26/11 attacks etc. Nikam also fought the Loksabha elections last year, though he lost by a minor margin.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Rajkummar Rao will be playing the role of a lawyer. More than a decade ago, Rajkummar Rao had played the role of Shahid Azmi, a criminal turned lawyer who was shot down in 2010 by unknown assailants. The movie was named Shahid, and it was a surprise hit, earning nearly 4 crores worldwide on a budget of merely 65 lakh rupees! Rajkummar Rao later received the National Award for the Best Actor due to this movie in 2014.
