During the trailer launch of his next venture of Bhool Chuk Maaf, the owner of Maddock Films minced no words as he revealed the true cause behind the current creative slump in Bollywood, and how it can be fixed with just one thing : authenticity!

According to Vijan, there is no need to ape the West mindlessly. The focus should be on the common Indian, who wants stories rooted to the ground, relatable to their lives, and he is extremely fortunate that his writers and filmmakers believe in the same.

Post COVID-19 pandemic, most of the big production houses in Bollywood have bit dust in terms of both box office revenue and creative innovation. However, for Maddock Films, it has been reverse. After experimenting with multiple OTT ventures, the production house went all guns blazing in 2024, delivering ZERO flops theatrically. Even the current year has been better than expected, with Chhaava being the highest grossing Indian film till date with a revenue of 810 crores.
