Maalik was initially set to release on June 20, alongside Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par Sitaare Zameen par is an Indian TV reality show th >> Read More... and Dhanush’s trilingual Kuberaa. However, the makers thought better, and the movie decided to postpone the date a few weeks later.

Rajkummar Rao had a wild ride in 2024. He began on a decent note with Srikanth, which turned to be a decent hit, and Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, which also managed to somehow recover its costs. Rajkummar Rao hit bullseye with Stree 2, which became one of the highest grossing Hindi movies of all time, with a net total of 627.02 crores.

However, 2024 ended on a slightly disappointing note for Rajkummar Rao with Vicky Vidya ka Woh Wala Video, which earned only 55 crores on a budget of 35 crores, just managing to avoid the tag of a flop for Rajkummar Rao. However, with Maalik, the actor aims to impress the audience in a new avatar.
