Plot
An honest middle class man, Anant(Sandeep Kulkarni), stumbles upon incriminating evidence against his boss and a minister. What he would do to use this for his benefit or would he even think of that.
Star performance
Like Dombivli Fast, Sandeep Kulkarni carries this film and does a commendable job. Rajeshwari Sachdev and Amol Parashar also did a fantastic job as wife and younger brother of Anant. The rest of the actors have also done a formidable job.
Analysis
The film has no connection to the film Dombivli Fast (2006) many people made the assumption based on the title and the lead actor of the film but this is a different story. The only similarity is the reality of an ordinary man’s life. Anant stumbles upon some incriminating evidence against his boss who he idolizes, handover the evidence without asking anything in return but this does not end as he enters the bandwidth of politics. Which would eventually give him money and power, but will he pay the price of morality.
The story after the interval feels inconsistent, even the editing is strange, some unwanted action scenes, item numbers hold this film’s potential. The film does have a gripping narrative and has an riveting twisted climax which would be debatable. The background score is loud which would be distracting as in many sequences the music overpowers the dialogue. The film doesn’t offer anything new, but can be watched once. Dombivli Return is an interesting yet cliched drama/thriller that holds your attention for most of its runtime.
