Sandeep Kulkarni is probably one of the most talented actors in the business. Backed by immense experience across many fields, and carrying an impressive résumé, Kulkarni sure has been a hit among the viewers. He has a huge fan base catering to the Hindi and Marathi audiences in particular.
Being brought up in a Maharashtrian middle class family, he learned to express his thoughts by means of colours and sketches. The artist in him was seen early on when he started painting regularly.Â
Being a theatre actor for four years, in English, Hindi and Marathi projects, his career took a leap into television. Some of his works on the small screen included 9 Malabar Hill on Zee Tv where he played a Muslim lawyer who fell in love with a Muslim woman, Swabhiman on DD where he bagged the role of an underworld don, Nyay on DD Metro as a counselor. Kulkarni took baby steps in the movie industry with the movie Mammo working under the legendary Shyam Benegal.
There was no stopping ever since. He was a part of three national winning movies including Shwaas, Dombivali Fest and Traffic signal. Shwaas even went on to be India’s official entry into the Oscars. He is backed by a number of state, national and international awards. In 1999, he finally married Kanchan Naik and the couple has a boy now.
