Born as Raj Kaur Sachdev is known for playing the role of Sakina in Sardari Begum for which she won the best-supporting actress in the National Film Award (1996). This multitalented actress was born in Mumbai in 1975.

She did her graduation from Guru Nanak Khalsa College (King's Circle). She started her acting career with a Marathi film directed by Sachin although the language was not known to her she impressed everybody with her acting talent.

It was just the start of magnificent journey of her acting career. Shyam Benegal cast her in all his movies since the 1990s, Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda, Mammo, Samar, Hari-Bhari (Salma), Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero (Capt. Lakshmi Sahgal) and Welcome to Sajjanpur (Salma).

She also worked in a TV series “Samvidhan” again directed by Shyam Benegal. Apart from acting, she is also a trained singer and her song “hulle hullare” was very famous and regular in all the TV channels. She got married to Varun Badola (Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani ) fame in 2004.

It was not love at first sight for both as they have already acted in two or three movies by then. It’s been ten years of their marriage, but they still love each other madly. Ragini Shah is a renowned Indian actress who rose to fame after bagging the role of Dugba on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Hindi soap, Saraswatichandra on Star Plus channel. Her family is from Mehsana but the actress was born and raised up in Mumbai. Ragini is a known face to the Gujarati industry; she has done over 50 Gujarati films and received six state awards, four of which are for the Best Actress Awards and two are for the Best Supporting Actress Award. The brilliant actress is also part of the Gujarati film, Harun Arun under the direction of Vinod Ganatra in 2009. The film won six international awards and Audience Award in Freeze Frame Film Festival in Canada.Ragini made her debut in the epic historical drama serial, Chanakya in year 1988 on DD National, where she played the role of Chanakya’s (played by Chandraprakash Dwivedi) mother. She went on to work as Rashmi Shekhar Nanvati in the Hindi serial, Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka on Sony TV in 1999. In 2001, she bagged the role of Mrs. Janki Bhimani on Zee TV’s Chandan Ka Palna Resham Ki Dori. Then in 2002, she appeared in the popular drama series, Aati Rahengi Baharein on Zee TV. In 2008, she was starred in the drama series, Mera Sasural on Sahara One.
