MORE CAST & CREW
“ Dhadak” is a romantic entertainer that is inspired by the Marathi super hit film, “ Sairat.” Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan. Karan Johar produced the film along with Zee Studios. Jhanvi Kapoor, daughter of “ Sridevi” and Boney Kapoor, made her debut in this film. Ishaan Khattar plays the male lead. Ashutosh Rana, Ankit Bisht, Shridhar Watsar, Aditya Kumar, Aishwarya Narkar and Kharaj Mukherjee are in the star cast. Ajay – Atul composed the songs and John Stewart Eduri composed the Background score. Vishnu Rao cranked the camera and “ Monisha R Baldawa” edited the film.
Madhukar Bhagla falls for Parthavi Singh. Parthavi, a politician cum hotelier’s daughter accepts Madhu’s love. After knowing his love for her, Madhu’s father says that she belongs to the upper caste and not to roam at her back. But, Madhu couldn’t stop his feeling on her. Both of them decide to elope and go to Nagpur, where Madhu’s uncle resides. He sends them to Kolkata. What happens next? Did they live a happy life or get caught? Watch the film in theaters.
Ishaan’s performance is okayish. Jhanvi Kapoor didn’t impress the audience. Hope, she needs a lot of practice. Ashutosh Rana has done a good job and similarly Kharaj Mukherjee.
Shashank has just taken the theme and not the story. Right from the occupation of the leads' parents, everything has changed. Only the caste is the issue spoken. Although it was the main theme in Sairat, Shashank didn’t concentrate on it too. The romantic portions are half-baked. The songs are good but the emotions are not. Dhadak could never be compared with Sairat, the soulful movie.
What’s Not There?
Dhadak created huge expectations but failed miserably to satisfy the audiences. If you didn’t watch Sairat, then your view might be different. Yet, the heroine needs more practice.
