Plot
The movie revolves around murder, it depicts the corrupt government and the misuse of automobiles. The movie starts with a simple investigation of a missing girl Amelia who is believed to have something to do with the death of the Porn stars. The investigation led to the unfolding of a bunch of corrupt actions revealing bigger crimes related to sex scandals and government dark secrets. The climax of the movie is full of chaos; Amelia, the missing girl, happens to be a strong witness to the automobile industry's unethical operations. The resolution of the case brings light to deeper problems and exposes corrupt individuals involved in larger crimes. The movie's start is a mystery and comedy, but the ending is dark.
Star performance
Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling played the title roles. Both the main characters were opposite to each other yet related. Russell Crowe played the role of Jackson Haley, a tough enforcer, giving depth to the character; on the other hand, Ryan Gosling played the role of a helpless Investigator, such as Holland March. He provided a funny touch on the movie. His physical humor and versatility maintained a perfect balance between the comedy and seriousness of the scenes.
