Plot
A CIA agent is captured in the Phillippines. A JTAC team is sent for extraction. However, when they are ambushed, it remains upon one of the few survivors, and a drone pilot, to complete the unfinished mission.
Star Performances
If someone should be blamed for the film’s performance, it is the marketing of this film. Except for them, there is almost nothing in this film that could be termed as “unacceptable”.
The chemistry between Liam Hemsworth and Russell Crowe is simply phenomenal. These are the two actors who almost carry the whole film on their shoulders.
Analysis
Some films are quite the opposite of what is promised in the trailer, and then there are films, whose trailers don’t do justice to their potential. ‘Land of Bad’ falls in the latter.
The film revolves around an extraction team, and how they must face the test of their life when they fall prey to an ambush. With seasoned actors like Liam Hemsworth, and Russell Crowe, you only know that this is going to get better.
The only major flaw in this film, if any, is the lack of emotional quotient. The film is not too involved emotionally, unlike ‘Saving Private Ryan’ or ‘Extraction’. However, in terms of action and thrill, it is in a league of its own. The viewers will be intrigued throughout the runtime of this film.
The acting performances are equally phenomenal. From Luke Hemsworth to Liam Hemsworth, each person has tried to do full justice to their role. Russell Crowe, who portrays the role of the drone operator, Captain Eddie ‘Reaper’ Grimm, adds authority to this film with his no-nonsense performance.

Verdict
‘Land of Bad’ is one of the rare films to fall prey to bad marketing. Despite having little in terms of emotion, the film is slick and gritty in terms of an action thriller. You can give this film a try, even if just for the performances of Liam Hemsworth and Russell Crowe
