Plot

The new version of The Mummy introduces the Egyptian princess Ahmanet . Ahmanet had been in a dream to rule the nation after her father. But, as her stepmom delivered a male child, her destiny was grabbed away from her. Ahmanet had dealing with Set, the Death God and mummifies herself. In the modern era, Nick Morton and his friend Chris Vail are on a treasure hunt. During their treasure hunt, they accidentally enter Ahmanet’s tomb. With the help of Jenny Halsey, an anthropologist, these two guys start exploring the tomb. While they were exploring, they accidentally release Ahmanet. What happens next? Did Ahmanet possesses them or uses them to fulfill her wish forms the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Tom Cruise, the hero has done his part excellently well. Tom Cruise stylish look impress the audiences. Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson had also done justice to their roles.

Analysis

Alex Kurtzman and his crew should be appreciated for the character selection. Sofia Boutella is the fantastic choice of Ahmanet. Anabelle’s character had been designed pretty well. The audiences appreciate her attitude and the boldness. However, the script lost its grip and some characters were left unnoticed.

What’s There?

  • Tom Cruise excellent performance; especially in the action sequences
  • Visual Effects is awesome
  • Right mixture of Horror and comedy
  • Cinematography and the set designs make us feel as if we are traveling along with Tom

What’s Not There?

  • The script doesn’t have a firm grip
  • Some of the characters have no significance

Verdict

The Mummy is a good film with a lot of entertaining elements. If we sideline all the minor flaws and watch the movie, it will be one among the best entertainers in recent times!
