Plot

Frank Sheeran remembers when he was hit man for the Italian-American Mafia. In the 1950s, he worked as a trunk driver, which is filled with meat. On his way to delivery, he encounters gangster Skinny Razor. Skinny Razor works as a member of the Philadelphia crime family led by Angelo Bruno. Frank provide him with some parts of his trunk illegally. Later the company where Frank was working filed a case against him for illegal supply. He won the case with the help of union lawyer Bill Bufalino. Bill introduces his cousin Russell Bufalino to Frank. Russell was the head of the North-eastern Pennsylvania crime family. Later Frank works for Russel and the underworld, where he is assigned with killing. Russel and Frank meet Jimmy Hoffa. Jimmy Hoffa is the head of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He provides financial aid to the Northeastern Pennsylvania crime family. Frank becomes Jimmy's bodyguard, and Jimmy is the favorite person of Frank's daughter Piggy. Jimmy faced a lot of problems after Robert F. Kennedy became Attorney General. Was Robert against Jimmy? What will happen to Jimmy? Do the upcoming events cause a change in Frank and Russell’s lives? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance

Robert De Nito did a great job playing Frank. The physical features of the dialogue delivery from him were excellent. He did a superb job depicting Frank's sociopathic and psychopathic killer. Joe Pesci played the role of Russell. His friendship with Frank is well portrayed by him. He shows how the underworld works and does its work. Al Pacino played as Jimmy was fantastic.  He drew well how powerful influencer work with the underworld and rule the world according to their liking. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actors.

Analysis

The film did a great job re-creating “I Heard You Paint House,” a nonfiction book by Charles Brandt. The thriller in the movie is well portrayed. The sound effects were perfect for the scenes. The descriptions of sociopathic killers are shown well. The CGI effect used for the de-aging of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci was excellent.
