The Island of Secrets (2014) is a Finland adventure film which is directed by Taavi Vartia. The movie is filmed in Kalymnos and Greece. The film is written by Kari Vaananen and Taavi Vartia under the production companies Fisher King Production and MRP Matila Rohr Productions.

Plot

The film portrays a story of three Finnish teenagers who trip over on a mysterious island in Greece during their vacation. During their explorations they uncover the secret about a long lost treasure. To find the treasure first, they find themselves followed by criminals' activities. The movie becomes thrilling when the teens use their bravery and intelligence to deceive and overcome their challenges, all while forming bonds of friendship and learning life lessons.

Star Performance

The cast features young and relatively unknown actors that bring a fresh energy in the film. Each performance manages to deliver portrayals of their characters' traits effortlessly. However the performances may not be Oscar-worthy. When talking about the chemistry among the leads is believable and adds a layer of authenticity in their performance.

Analysis

“The Island of Secrets” captures stunning landscapes of Greece which acts as a breath-taking backdrop to the story. The direction is indeed competent.
