. They demand a huge ransom from Gemma's family. When Eddie leaves to collect the ransom, Martin confesses to Gemma that he loves her, and about his intentions to double cross, Eddie. When Eddie is left alone with Gemma, she informs him about Martin's ideas. This creates a misunderstanding that leads to a feud. Both Martin and Eddie fight, ending up with Martin killing Eddie. Gemma leaves the place with the ransom.
ANALYSIS:
The director tries to explain the heart of the story in the first few minutes. But without any dialogues and hints, it looked more like a surprise. He maintains his unique style of camera and narrative throughout the movie. It gets tougher as the plot unfurl further, as the cast trio becomes dominant on screen with excellent performance.
STAR PERFORMANCES:
Arterton possesses a dynamic character in this movie. Her unique emotions and mannerisms change on the scenes. Marsan portrays a psychotic character. He moves around as a powerful character with masculine aspects. But when he comes to know that his plan is not followed, the surprise reaction with a pinch of shock is welcoming. Martin comes as a naive aide and manages to equal the other cast's performance.
WHAT'S THERE?
The plot and characters are introduced beautifully. The director brings out the capability of the cast perfectly.
WHAT'S NOT THERE?
The twists in the movie are believable. But they changed the tone of the movie from a dark comic thriller to a melodramatic tone. The director missed maintaining the ending in the tone as same as that of the starting part of the movie.
VERDICT:
The movie can be watched once.
