Plot

Lorraine Broughton, an undercover spy for the M16, is sent on a discreet mission of the utmost importance to Berlin during the height of the Cold War, where she must secure a list containing the names of double agents and investigate a former agent's murder. Lorraine must use her stealth, sensuality, smarts and every other trick in her book of espionage to survive and complete her mission in a city riddled with traitors.

The movie boasts a star-studded cast, comprising of Oscar winner Charlize Theron, James McAvoy and the likes of Sofia Boutella, They are all impeccable in their roles, especially Theron, who is known for her talented portrayal of female characters in action settings.

Analysis

An electrifying, sensual and flashy action movie, Atomic Blonde is a must- watch for anyone who's into action. The cinematography is nothing short of brilliant, from the neon-drenched visuals to the action sequences. The music is terrific; the 80s soundtrack is the perfect backdrop for all the avant-garde action that the film is peppered with. The storytelling is a bit muddled in places, but action flicks don't always give plotlines the time of the day. They're more about the fights and action sequences, which Atomic Blonde does a terrific job of nailing. It is an intense movie, and Theron is immaculate as a female action protagonist in all her scenes as a sultry, sly killing machine. Everything adds up to a highly engaging watch, nothing short of a visual treat for action enthusiasts.
