Star performance
Idris Elba doesn't fit in this role honestly. He tries but doesn't come off as convincing. His body has another bucket of shots, which the audience would like. The characters in the film have been given a dramatic tone which disconnects the audience. All of the characters are underwritten. Despite this, all the actors have done a decent job.
Analysis
The film story is about 3 people's lives intertwining. Max, a former rugby player who has marriage issues, and the couple’s attempts to reconcile is dramatic and so is the rest of the characters. The film’s foundation is based on coincidence. It can happen once, not every damn time. The film positions itself to build our existence and make it, but in every instance, the characters are helpless. It preaches about human connection but also shows how weak a person can become by these connections proposing we have very little control in our actions and consequences that are shaping an individual. The film fails to make an impact. The actors are simply doing what they’ve been asked to do. The story lacks the depth to be taken seriously. 100 Streets had a fantastic concept but it's cliched storyline and melodramatic tone is its downfall.

Verdict
100 Streets is a good idea on paper but has failed in execution. If you’re a fan of Idris Elba, you can watch this film. Even though his character doesn't suit him, he doesn't fail to charm the audience.
