CAST & CREW
This is a superhero movie based on a 'Marvel Comics' character. This movie was directed by Shane Black and written by Drew Pearce and Shane. This is the seventh installment in the series of Marvel Cinematic Universe.
PLOT: Guy Pearce, an evil scientist, takes revenge on Robert Downey Jr. with the help of Ben Kingsley. They together destroy Robert's home and kidnap Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert's love interest. Guy and Kingsley together plan to destroy America as well. Robert has to save everyone.
ANALYSIS: The core of the movie was nice. It had the potential to make the mood a bit serious, and turn it into a funny tone. The parts where Robert was not in his uniform was considered to be great. The events from ' The Avengers' were easily blended into this film. The part of narration does not make this film look like a complete, action-packed superhero movie, as it contains many light dialogues, which possess the potential to create a hearty laugh. The visuals were so attractive. Especially, in the scene where Robert's house gets destroyed.
STAR PERFORMANCE: Downey Jr. Revolves around this movie with a superior attitude. He possessed the charisma and was hyperactive throughout the movie. He made the film more lively. Paltrow does not have anything to do in this film. She wanders with bruises and happen to be rescued by Robert. The role played by her was meaningless. But she did more than what the comical version gave. Pearce failed to do wonders with his important supporting role. Kingsley role maybe something different from the character found in the comics.
WHAT'S THERE: The screenplay part justifies the whole duration of 2 hours 10 minutes. All the scenes are set in a funny, as well as in an entertaining way.
WHAT'S NOT THERE: Robert is hurt in all possible ways. But unlike other movies, The Avengers were not used in this to help. One may feel that the involvement of The Avengers will make the movie racier.
VERDICT: A movie that seriously defines the phrase, 'An action packed entertainer.'
