Both felt an instant connection and bonding and spent the rest of the day together, falling asleep on Ben’s couch. Next day, in the morning she leaves his house while he was asleep but quickly regrets the decision. Then she returns to the apartment to bid him a goodbye and overhears Ben while talking to his friend Pete. He was insulting Bea as he was upset and hurt by Bea’s sudden disappearance. Bea over hears their conversation, and she leaves. After six months they became face-to-face, when Halle, Bea’s sister starts dating Claudia, Pete’s sister. The two are frigid and blaming each other for the last date ending abruptly in bad terms. Claudia and Halle gets engaged and plans out their wedding in Sydney. Bea has broken up with Jonathan, her fiancé and has dropped out of law school without letting her parents know. She was astounded knowing that Ben would stay in her cousin’s parents’ house for the marriage. The rest of the story revolves around Bea, Ben and their love story.
Star Performance
Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell exhibit fantastic chemistry throughout the movie, complemented by standout performances of rest of the cast and impeccable styling. A special mention also goes to Peter Gluck, whose brief appearance adds a memorable comedic touch. This great romantic comedy with many fun moments depicting a successful project by the filmmakers.
Analysis
“Anyone But You” delivers diverting moments and is a charming addition to the romcom genre despite its imperfections. The movie come across some vital issues that we face in our daily decisions and how they affect our choices and decisions. There is plenteous advertising for the LGBT throughout the movie and it narrows the audience for this movie down and some scenes are practically unrealistic like the proposal one, which seems more like a platitude. The drama’s, hoodwinking, tears, grand gestures, quips, sleazy, and a great soundtrack, check all the boxes. While at the end, the film manages to infuse some freshness into familiar clichés under the direction of Will Gluck’s. Altogether, it’s a refreshing movie to watch, having the perks of exciting casts and location.
