Plot
Phil is a cell phone addict. He has no social life and is always with his phone. His life changes when his phone gets updated with Jexi, a virtual AI life coach. Phil is guided by Jexi, who helps him get back into the real world instead of being confined to his room. Things go out of hand when Jexi gets attached to him and becomes a tech nightmare.
Star Performance
Adam Devine did an excellent job as Phil, along with Alexandra Shipp. Michael Pena also did a great job as Kai, along with other actors.
Analysis
This film is about what will happen when an AI does more than it is ordered to do. This film is very entertaining. This film shows us what happens when we become overly dependent on smartphones. At first, Jexi’s guidance helps him improve his life, but when the time when he no longer needs Jexi arrives, it tries to sabotage his life. This film is hilarious, but it is primarily an adult comedy. It is not suitable for children. It is a typical rom-com with the combination of an AI nightmare.
